FRESH SURVEY OF CONTEMPORARY CALIFORNIA ARTISTS AT NEW GALLERY OF MELISSA MORGAN FINE ART
Maloney featured among cutting-edge contemporaries, while his "1-800GadgetsAndGizmosArt.Com" series continues at MMFA satellite gallery
California artist Steve Maloney will be front, center and geared to engage as Melissa Morgan Fine Art proudly unveils its new 6,000 square-foot gallery in the heart of Palm Desert, California.
The new gallery space, located at 73040 El Paseo (corner of Highway 74), presents an exceptional backdrop for Maloney's work, featuring dramatic interior architecture with high, vaulted ceilings, multiple exhibition salons, and an outdoor sculpture area enabling Melissa Morgan Fine Art to reveal artwork in dynamic, world-class style.
Melissa Morgan Fine Art recently added Steve Maloney to its stable of contemporary artists. He entered with a bang, practically taking over a True Value location in Palm Springs with works from "1-800GadgetsAndGizmosArt.Com," a mixed-media series of paintings and sculptural works inspired by the raging consumerism and salesmanship that are so pervasive in American culture.
Quite a scene while it lasted from January 6-19, the entire, 24-piece "1-800GadgetsAndGizmosArt.Com" series has been relocated to the Melissa Morgan Fine Art satellite gallery at The Atrium in Rancho Mirage, California, with no closing date set.
The new Melissa Morgan Fine Art space will open on February 13 with a survey of cutting-edge California-based artists - as well as a few from outside the Golden State. The new show is a nod to the gallery's wildly successful Light and Space exhibition, which ran last year.
Along with Steve Maloney, featured artists include Andy Moses, Lita Albuquerque, Judy Stabile, Nellie King Solomon, Merion Estes, Ron Reihel, Suzan Woodruff, JP Long, Stephen Knapp, Josh Garber, Deborah Oropallo, Guy Dill, Ned Evans, Maggie Tenneson, and Gabriel Rivera.
Continuing in a separate salon will be Miami: The Edge of a Nation, the guest-curated show featuring Carlos Betancourt, Ivan Toth DePena, Ralph Provisero, Charo Oquet, Christian Duran, Claudia Scalise, and Liliam Cuenca.
Melissa Morgan Fine Art specializes in cutting-edge international contemporary art in all media, with emphasis on California movements including Light and Space/Finish Fetish, as well as sculpture and Latin America art. The gallery strives to present museum-quality programs with visionary and distinguished painters and sculptors, as well as artists working in photography, video and installation art.
